The 2008 Summer Quarter ended on Friday, July 4th. This year, 106 students participated in the continuing education courses available to all called workers who are active in the ministry of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod or of churches in its confessional fellowship, including staff ministers and teachers.
As the seminary continues to work with students from diverse backgrounds through the Pastoral Studies Institute (PSI), the number of multi-cultural students on campus for Summer Quarter has grown. This year brought 17 students and instructors from Cristo Palabra De Vida - the Spanish language arm of the PSI- to the seminary for a national theological training seminar for congregational assistants. In addition, 16 people attended as part of the Asian Ministerial Training Program, and five Hmong pastors returned for continuing education.
For more information on the national theological training seminar, please see the June 7 edition of the WELS Together newsletter.
