Professor Paul E. Zell has returned the call extended to him by Luther Preparatory School. Zell has been professor of New Testament and homiletics courses since 2002 and also serves as academic dean.
As he reported his decision, Professor Zell noted, “Love for the gospel ministry runs deep in our circles, as does a desire to provide top-notch training for gospel ministers. It was gratifying to observe that love and desire in comments received from many brothers and sisters in the faith as I considered both calls to serve. I trust that the Lord Jesus will cause that desire for excellent Christian education to grow in WELS, and I pray that he will continue to bless each of our four synodical schools as we train men and women to proclaim his peace to the world.”
President Paul Wendland reacted to Zell’s decision, “I am very thankful that the Lord has brought Prof. Zell to a conviction to remain here at Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary. I join with him and others in praying that the next president of LPS may soon be found.”
