Food pantry donations

Several years ago a pastor and teacher from Michigan began gathering non-perishable food items, paper products, and cleaning supplies for the families of married students at the seminary. Today this effort has grown to include donations from congregations in the Northern, Southeastern, and Southwestern Conferences of the Michigan District.

In November these congregations filled a 24-foot truck with donations for our married students’ food bank. Volunteers delivered their cargo to the seminary and were met by a host of students who eagerly unloaded the truck and sorted the bounty.

In addition to the foodstuffs, $5,432.00 in gifts from congregational members was also delivered with which the food bank manager will buy gift cards at a local supermarket for our student families to use for meat and other perishable foods.

Our student families are most appreciative of the loving generosity shown by God’s people during these challenging economic times.
