Friends of the seminary day

Friends of the seminary gathered together on Saturday, October 6, in support of Christ’s mission at WLS. Over 120 women and men learned more about the global mission of the seminary through presentations by Professor and Mrs. Ken Cherney, and student Benjamin Foxen and his wife Rebekah.

Sponsored by the Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary Auxiliary, Friends of the Seminary Day is an opportunity for visitors to worship in the seminary auditorium, to hear selections by the WLS chorus, to tour the seminary grounds, and to learn more about current seminary happenings.

In addition, the auxiliary held their annual business meeting. Attendees voted to shift the responsibilities of the auxiliary’s Executive Committee to a more informal pool of volunteers. The WLS Auxiliary will, of course, continue to support the seminary with its projects and prayers. Two-time former board member Carol Egelseer stated that “Ad hoc committees will be formed in response to specific projects beneficial to the seminary. We look forward to even more individual involvement on a project-by-project basis and expect our close relationship with the seminary to continue as we work more closely with the Office of Mission Advancement.”
