Students to experience prison ministry

Led by Professor John Schuetze, 45 middlers will witness first-hand some of the joys and challenges of prison ministry when they visit the Dodge Correctional Facility located in Waupun, WI. Students have been visiting maximum security correctional institutions in Waupun for nearly 40 years as part of their preparation for the public ministry.

After a tour of the facility, students will meet with a panel of inmates for a question and answer session. “The Q and A with the inmates helps them understand the challenges that an inmate faces,” Schuetze noted, “especially if he happens to be Christian.” This experience also encourages students to establish this type of outreach program in the future.
