Summer Quarter

Summer Quarter 2011 will end on Friday, July 8, 2011. Enrollment in summer quarter is open to all called workers who are active in the ministry of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod or of churches in its confessional fellowship, including staff ministers and teachers.

Total enrollment for on-campus and on-line students participating in the graduate-level continuing education courses was 101 students. On-campus enrollment includes courses in any of the one-, two-, or three-week sessions and on-line students are enrolled in one of three distance-learning courses. Course offerings included Understanding Futurism and Dispensationalism, Reconfigure Your Sunday School, The Preacher Studies Romans 9-16, Job, and Lutheranism in America: 1880-1940.

One of the chief blessings of the growing number of learning opportunities, both on-campus and on-line, is that growth and interaction among called workers is still possible. Whether students are sitting next to one another in the classroom or chatting on-line about the assignment, the learning experience is valuable and worthwhile. One online student happily noted, “I’m as close to my ‘classroom’ as an Internet connection. Even if I have an intense week that throws off my normal classroom time, I can fit the coursework into a later time slot in the day. What other classroom can you enter at midnight?”
