Teaching in Ukraine
In June, Professor John Brug taught a continuing education course in archeology at the St. Sophia Ukrainian Lutheran Theological Seminary in Ternopil. President Paul Wendland followed him, teaching a course on the Apostle Paul and culture. Each professor also taught a course for St. Sophia’s regular seminarians. In all, 32 men attended. Besides pastors and students from Ukraine, the seminary welcomed guests from Georgia, Norway, Sweden, Latvia, and Russia. The rector of St. Sophia, John Vogt, plans on making summer quarter courses available on a regular basis in Ternopil, both for seminarians and as part of a continuing education program. These exchanges make us realize and value all the more our worldwide fellowship in the gospel.
