Continuing Education

Providing continuing education for those already serving in the pastoral ministry of the WELS is a natural extension of the seminary’s basic purpose of training men for the pastoral ministry. Through its theological journal, the Wisconsin Lutheran Quarterly, its Summer Quarter Program (both on- and off-campus), its annual Symposium, its Pastors Institutes, and various pastoral conference presentations the seminary builds on the foundation it has laid for the synod’s pastors during their four years of seminary training.

While individual professors will from time to time accept assignments to serve other constituencies within the WELS, e.g., making presentations to groups of lay people, this remains outside of the specific scope of the seminary, which is to train future pastors and provide continuing education for its graduates and others serving in the ministerium of the WELS.
