The seminary’s courses in Christian education prepare the students for the many kinds of teaching they will be doing as pastors. The course in the junior year lays a foundation by teaching the principles and methods which are basic to Christian education at any level (child, youth, adult). In the middler year students learn to apply these principles and methods as they prepare Bible history and catechism lessons and youth and adult Bible classes. In one semester of the middler year students are involved in supervised classroom teaching in a Lutheran elementary school. In the senior year the emphasis is on developing and administering a comprehensive program of education in the congregation. One course concentrates on the program for adult education; the other focuses on the educational program for children and youth. In addition, the use of various technological applications is demonstrated and evaluated.
