The Practice of NT Exegesis
A seminary class text with this title forms the basis for a review of the basic steps in doing an exegesis.. Then a workshop format is used to put these basics into practice by doing an exegesis of selected passages from Hebrews, Romans, and Mark. The objective is to sharpen a pastor's skills in the matter of doing a good exegesis.

PI course: 5-15 hours

Exegesis of 1 Peter
A thorough exegesis is done of some portions of 1 Peter. A running exegesis is done on other portions. There are three major objectives: 1) To sharpen exegetical skills by briefly reviewing some of the key aspects of NT Greek syntax while also participating in an exegesis of this NT book; 2) To discuss the applications that this epistle of Peter has for us as pastors and for the people we serve as shepherds; 3) To grow in personal faith from an in-depth study of this portion of God's Word.

Exegesis of Philemon, 1 and 2 John
This is an exegetical study of these three short epistles with the same objectives as those given under 1 Peter above.
