To sharpen skills in counseling and disciplining those with troubled or failed marriages; 3. To provide practical suggestions on how to minister to the growing number of divorced individuals and their families and on how to practice preventive medicine; 4. 2 Timothy: A Practical/Exegetical Study
Written during his second imprisonment in Rome, with execution apparently imminent, Second Timothy is St. Paul's final letter, his "last will and testament." In this deeply personal letter Paul urges Timothy, as well as future generations of pastors, to do what he did: to guard the gospel, to rightly handle the gospel, to continue in the gospel, and to proclaim the gospel. In this class we will make an exegetical study of this brief letter and also spend considerable time applying to the ministry today the truths that Paul expounds.

An Exegetical/Practical Study of Paul’s Letters to Titus and Philemon
In The Word of the Lord Grows, Martin Franzmann writes with regard to the Pastoral Epistles: “Consecrated pastors and teachers have found in them their own New Testament within the New Testament and have lived of them and by them soberly and successfully in the daily round of their duties.” This is certainly true of Paul’s letter to Titus. We will study both Titus and Philemon, another of Paul’s personal letters, in the original language. Under God, the class will provide a forum for brotherly and mutually strengthening discussions about some of the practical aspects of the ministry.
