2007 Symposium on Christian Stewardship

On September 17 and 18, 2007, over 450 attended the Symposium on Christian Stewardship. Three pastors presented essays under the theme “Raising Up a Generation of Godly Givers.” Pastor David Valleskey, past president of the seminary and now serving at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church in Carlsbad, CA, presented “Laying the Foundation” and offered an exegetical study of pertinent New Testament passages dealing with the Christian’s use of money. Pastor Ronald Muetzel, Vice-president of Institutional Advancement at Wisconsin Lutheran College, spoke on the subject, “Facing the Challenges” and reviewed past and present efforts in stewardship training. Prof. Forrest Bivens charted a course for the future under the theme “Seizing the Opportunities” and offered practical advice for training Christians to use their God-given gifts for the ministry of the gospel.

The essays are offered to you below. You will also find the sermon on Romans 8:11-17 preached by Pastor James R. Huebner at our symposium worship service.
