Friends of the Seminary Day to be held

Friends of the Seminary Day will be held Saturday, October 7, 2017.

Sponsored by the WLS Auxiliary, this annual event highlights the way your gifts help WLS support the worldwide mission of WELS. You’ll hear about students and professors who serve in mission fields.

The student speaker will be Noah Willitz. He was a vicar at Victory of the Lamb, Katy, Texas, last year. Thanks to the Vicar in a Mission Setting program, students are placed in mission or mission-minded congregations to learn and serve. This allows seminary students the opportunity to put into practice the lessons they have been learning in the classroom.

Attendees will also hear from Professor Sam Degner, who joined the faculty in summer 2017. Before then he served at Bethel, Menasha, Wis., where the congregation was active in serving the Spanish-speaking community.

Registration and coffee hour begins at 8 a.m. in the auditorium. Worship begins at 9 a.m. After the presentations, a light lunch, included in the $10 registration fee, will be served. Guided tours of the campus will follow. Northwestern Publishing House will also have a selection of books and gift items available for purchase.

Please send your name, address, telephone number, and home congregation along with your registration fee to the attention of Lori Guse at 11831 N Seminary Drive, Mequon WI 53092, no later than September 17. For more information, contact Lori at 262.242.8104 or lori.guse@wls.wels.net.
