Friends of the Seminary Day will be held Saturday, October 5, 2019.
Sponsored by the WLS Auxiliary, this annual event highlights the way your gifts help WLS support the worldwide mission of WELS.
Presentations and lectures highlight some of the ways our faculty and students are serving Christ’s church on a wider scale on and off our campus. In addition, an offering is collected and participants choose which projects to fund. Since 1973, more than $120,000 in wish-list donations has been given by friends of the seminary through the WLS Auxiliary.
Professors Brad Wordell and E. Allen Sorum will share photos and stories of PSI students and mission projects from North America and around the world. Of special interest is how the PSI program of WLS has shaped much of the overseas mission work our church body is now carrying out.
Seminary Senior Paul Bourman will share a presentation about his experiences during vicar year in Falls Church, Virginia. The presentation will feature stories about the blessings and challenges of living, working, and sharing the gospel in the diversity and busyness of the Washington D.C. metro area.
Registration and coffee hour begins at 8 a.m. in the auditorium. Worship begins at 9 a.m. After the presentations, a light lunch, included in the $10 registration fee, will be served. Guided tours of the campus will follow.
Please send your name, address, telephone number, and home congregation along with your registration fee to the attention of Lori Guse at 11831 N Seminary Drive, Mequon WI 53092, no later than September 13. For more information, contact Lori at 262.242.8104 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
