Medical Decisions and Dilemmas in End-of-Life Care

Instructor: Robert Fleischmann

Description:
In pre-tech days death came with certainty and often with suddenness. Medical professionals called the shots and patients lived and died with the consequences. Much has changed! High-technology and on-demand information challenges the patient to make difficult decisions about living and dying within the medical arena. In this course we will examine routine issues like resuscitation orders and feeding options to the more complex issues of exploratory surgery, continued cancer treatments and the ever-present reality of limited resources. The objective is to equip the pastor to be an informed and valuable resource for families who ask “what would God have me to do?” in such circumstances.
