Preaching and the Parables

Instructor: Paul Wendland

Description:
Jesus' narrative parables hold great power in destabilizing our natural way of thinking so that we can see things anew in the light of his grace. They are powerful stories, beautifully told. As such Jesus' parables have always held a special fascination for both believer and unbeliever alike. This course is intended to accomplish two goals. First we will want to take a new look at how to interpret these gems without over-interpreting them. Secondly, we will discuss ways of proclaiming them to God's people. By the end of the course not only will participants come away with a fresh look at God's grace, but also renewed energy for their preaching.
