Principles and Practice of Prayer

Instructor: John Brug

Description:
The class will study the biblical principles of prayer and models of prayer found in the Holy Scriptures. Topics will include kinds of prayers, sources of prayers, helps and hindrances in prayer, the Lord’s Prayer and other great prayers of the Bible. Discussion topics will include prayer and the pastor, prayer in the church and school, and prayer in the family. The goal of the course is to develop a course or plan for encouraging the greater practice of prayer in your own lives and in your congregations. Assignments, besides the daily lessons, will be a brief review of a prayer book or a book about prayer and a brief paper on “Lessons for a Pastor from Paul’s Prayers,” “Lessons from the Prayers of Revelation,” “Great Intercessors in the Bible,” or a topic of your choice.
