Description: Tuesday – 1 Corinthians 1:18-25 A cross, the despicable symbol of torture for villains, this is how God shows power? Jesus, the poor traveling rabbi from Nazareth, this is how God saves people? It wasn’t flashy enough for Jews. It wasn’t complex enough for Greeks. But the gospel challenges us too. Just like that, no earning it, no deserving it, no teamwork with God, this is how God works? When you are feeling guiltiest your inner wise-guy says, “God doesn’t just forgive you. It can’t be that simple. What do we have to do?” Forgiveness seems like foolishness to those who are perishing, but to those who are being saved it is the power of God.
